I would like to say thank you to Michelle at The Cat's Meow in Anacortes and Highland Animal Center!
Over the last couple of days my cat started having problems breathing and I thought he was going to die. I tried multiple veterinarians in the area and not one of them would do anything to help him because I did not have money that second. I have
income and can take care of my pets but my cat needed urgent care and could not wait until next payday. After going into several local veterinarian and calling several animal groups, finally I found The Cat's Meow and Michelle helped my cat immediately and sent me to Highland Animal Care Center. After rushing him there and the vet took X-rays of my cat they were able to see that he had asthma and gave him a shot. They stayed after closing time to help him and I was even able to bring him back for a checkup the next day. He is doing much better and can breathe better now but is still lethargic. Thankfully he has started eating.
I find it really sad that the people who chose to work with animals for a living saw that my cat could not breathe and was in serious pain would just show us to the door. I wasn't asking for a handout, I just wanted to stop his suffering. No one would even give me a payment plan or simply take my money next week. They all chose to be greedy over money over a living creature's life. It is sad that if no one helped my cat he would have died simply because of an asthma attack because no one would even look at him.
I am so grateful for finding The Cat's Meow in Anacortes and the team at Highland Animal Center in Mount Vernon.
